China have been working to build a recoverable rocket system via multiple projects, some of which have already launched and failed. But the success of the Long march 10B which uses a never before used recovery system shows that China's engineers are up for the task.
This is only the 5th Orbital class rocket launch system to propulsively land and recover a booster, and I'm sure we'll see many more designs in the coming years.
