There is a reason why when people install a blue-flame oil or gas heating, they extend the pipe through the chimney top cover. Because otherwise it becomes a sound cannon that can annoy the hell out of the neighbors who just want to relax in the sun in their garden.
The neighbor was informed but nothing happened. (UPDATE: Second attempt seems more promising.)
Their burner runs what seems like on average 15 minutes every half hour, even in hot summer.
I am getting the impression that installers might not treat this measure as mandatory in order to make more attractice prices, but that's just a suspicion.
I used zoom mic and amped the audio a bit to make it clear what noise I am referring to in case you have bad hearing and/or bad sound equipment. You can try to adjust so that environmental sounds are realistic. But the burner noise is definitely very annoying. One of those things that can 'stick in your ears' even when it's gone. Psychoacoustically bad.
UPDATE 2: The guy got a good offer from what I hear and apparently took it. As of Mid June 2020 the issue is solved.
