Why are so many Black women experiencing life-threatening health crises during pregnancy and childbirth? Unfortunately, there are no easy explanations, and no 'silver bullet' solutions. But in a country with already high maternal mortality rates, the disparities between Black maternal mortality and nearly every other racial grouping is glaring, and should be of great concern to society as a whole.
