A child riding a scooter in West Dearborn crossed the street without looking and was nearly struck by an oncoming vehicle. Thankfully, everyone walked away safely, but this could have ended very differently.
As kids spend more time outside this summer, take a few minutes to remind them to:
- Stop before crossing.
- Look both ways.
- Make eye contact with drivers before entering the street.
- Never assume a driver sees you.
