Now you see it, now you don't! Osprey chicks have mottled brown and white markings coupled with a distinct white stripe down their spine that help them camouflage with the nest material. When they flatten themselves in the nest, this striping perfectly mimics the look of sticks and twigs, helping them hide from predators.
