I've discovered a secret treasure trove of incredible storytelling - movies for girls. Like many before me, I was fooled by men who hadn't watched them saying they were bad, but it's time the truth came out.
Turns out stories written by women are not only better than bad, they're often better than more "universally" acclaimed films that address the same topics. Women's stories come from a place of paying a lot of attention to the world around them, and they often get dismissed or even demonized by insecure men and the general public. Even popular women's media like the Hunger Games, Outlander, Mean Girls, Gilmore Girls, HBO's Girls, anything else with Girls in the title, often still get placed in a lower quality category for little to no reason. In this video, I break down why, and give recommendations for things you should start watching and reading.
