A historical look at forest insect management in the late 1970's. Mountain Pine Beetle outbreak in the Kootenay area is documented. This is what an outbreak used to look like.

The mountain pine beetle has long been a pest in BC's lodgepole pine forests but in the late 90s it became a disaster in this province

This production is one of a collection of historical films and videos that were digitized as part of the celebration of the centenary of the BC Forest Service in 2012. Digitization was done through a grant from the UBC Ike Barber Learning Centre and funding from the BC Forest Service Centenary Society.
