Having replaced the stock stereo unit with the cheapest carplay stereo on Amazon, I'd discovered that both front speakers on this car were broken. The stock speakers weren't wonderful, and I knew that it was probably the Florida weather that did them in, I wanted something after market of higher quality. There is no drop in speakers for this car, so the technique is a bit more involved.
This starts as one would expect with the removal of the door panel, its complexity varies with the cars features. The challenge is that the original speaker and mount is one unit. The Scoche SAGMHR634B adapter kit is used for this task. To compliment this, Boss CH6530 speakers will be installed. The kit is designed to be modified as the inner mounts for smaller speakers are removed. A dremel makes easy work of this.
Metra 72-4568 cable adapters allow these after market speakers to be connected to the stock car harnesses. With the new speakers installed and tested, the door panels are then reassembled.
