Chemical properties of metals & non metals || 3D animated video || class10th || Metals & Non Metals ||
1. Reaction with Oxygen
Metals: React with oxygen to form metal oxides, which are generally basic.
Some metals, like aluminum, form amphoteric oxides (react with both acids and bases).
Non-Metals: React with oxygen to form non-metal oxides, which are acidic.
2. Reaction with Water
Metals: React with water to produce metal hydroxides and hydrogen gas. Highly reactive metals like sodium react vigorously, while less reactive metals like iron react slowly.
βNon-Metals: Do not react with water directly.
