Here’s something special for all Chelsea fans and aviation lovers — I filmed the arrival of the Chelsea squad back in London after their incredible win at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup!
The team had flown out to the tournament on an Airbus A321XLR, but came back in style on a much larger Airbus A340 — maybe to fit that gold-plated World Cup trophy… and who knows, maybe even the goal net where Cole Palmer scored his two goals in the final.
The flight left New York at 9 PM after a 2-hour delay caused by heavy thunderstorms.
I arrived at the airport bright and early — 6 AM, under clear blue skies — ready to capture the moment.
But just minutes before touchdown, heavy rain, strong winds, and low visibility rolled in. The A340 had to circle in a holding pattern before finally making its descent through the poor conditions.
I managed to catch the landing — you can really see the poor visibility in the video — but I got completely soaked!
And just moments later… the sun came out again. British weather at its finest.
As a Chelsea fan since the late ’90s, I couldn’t be more proud of the team. This was a moment I’ll never forget — capturing history on camera as Chelsea return home as world champions.
