Thanks to the support of the Ecosia community, we partnered with Trees for the Future to assist farmers in Senegal in creating forest gardens. In these gardens, trees grow alongside the crops, creating a protective microclimate, providing shade and moisture in the dry season, and protecting the crops from the wind and animals.
Check out our full video below, featuring farmer Bassouri Seck and his wife, Khodia, whom we first met in 2018, when they were struggling to grow crops. Five years later we came back and were thrilled to witness the powerful impact the trees have had in transforming their lives in Kaffrine, Senegal. 🌳 ✨
