In the studio prepping for this weekend’s Halo Refuser show, I made a little demo of what I call the ‘Cheater Remix’ technique....
Basically I’m using keys on the Nord to play drum samples in Ableton, but also copying the MIDI to an instance of Stutter Edit over a 4-bar loop (taken from one of me & Julian’s ‘Darkwhyte’ album).
Simple enough, but effective... also please forgive the sloppy timing as I’m holding the gimbal with one hand trying to get a decent shot while playing one-handed. A little wobbly!
