This is the official announcement video for the 2023 edition of the Cheap PC Challenge!
After the rousing success that was last year's challenge, I've tweaked the rules a bit and updated the three challenges for points.
Budget: $100 USD (use the exchange rate if not from the US!)
Parts in the budget:
- CPU
- GPU
- Motherboard
- RAM
The three challenges for points are:
- Passmark version 9 CPU benchmark: passmark.com/products/performancetest/download.php
- Lost Planet DirectX 10 Benchmark (defaults): guru3d.com/files-details/lost-planet-directx-10-game-demo.html
- Google Octane benchmark: chromium.github.io/octane
And of course: demonstrate the most out-there, unusual, or unlikely thing you can get your $100 PC to do. The weirder, the better!
