Conclusions:
- Realtek 8812au adapter AC1200 can be found for about $10 and is faster, has stronger antenna, USB3.0 is not necessary because it is hard to achieve full 866Mbps speed (actually only half of that would be pure data)
- Realtek 8811au adapter AC600 can be purchased for $6, is smaller and better for smaler devices like tablets, still very decent speeds but upload from higher distances is definitely slower
- both dongles are worth of their prices and provide much better speeds than 802.11n standard in older devices
- drivers for both are available for Windows, MacOS and Linux
