Run Club is one of St. Joe’s Youth Wellness Centre’s many wonderful low-barrier programming options to help engage youth in their services. Designed for those interested in exploring the physical and mental health benefits of getting active, a Couch to 5K (or 10K) training and participation program is available. All registration fees are covered, and running gear, including shoes, is provided to those who need it. The Run Club takes part in local races including Moon in June, Road2Hope, and of course, our upcoming community partner event A Run for Chris!
Megan Roti, A Run for Chris organizer and Chris’ best friend, recently met up with the Run Club ahead of the Sunday, August 17th event. Preparing for the 5K route, Megan had the chance to see the YWC program in action and connect with service users. 💙
"It was important for me to meet the youth that were doing this for, and to see the impact of our efforts. There is a real sense of community here at the Youth Wellness Centre and I know Chris would've loved being a part of the consistency and connection of the Centre and the Run Club" shared Megan.
Funds raised through the fourth edition of A Run for Chris will support youth mental health and addictions care at the YWC.
