An investor named Keith Gill, known on Reddit as Deep(f'ing)Value (DFV) was linked with the initial increase in the share price. DFV turns out to be Roaring Kitty, who uploaded the YouTube video last year. Even with the stock trading research firm Citron Research, which is run by a short seller named Andrew Left, stating that the buyers were “suckers,” stock continued to rise to $43.03 on January 21. on January 28, the story took a surprising turn when stock trading platforms including Robinhood and TD Ameritrade suddenly restricted GameStop transactions. While the stock went on to reach a peak of $483 in the day, it crashed to $112.25 by the end of the day.
