This DLC finally made caravans viable, well really your flying your whole base but who cares it's exactly what I did not know I wanted.

Collect rare gravcores to expand your gravship and travel further. You’ll find them in crashlanded orbital platforms, insect-infested caves, broken-down reactors rigged with traps, and other dangerous locations.
