This animation, created using MATLAB, illustrates the particles (or cells) bumping into each other as each moves towards a randomly assigned particle.
A few limit cycles result. One seems trivial -- where two particles are assigned to chase each other (right). Another happens to be a 4-particle cycle. The remaining fourteen particles eventually fall into line and appear to form a conga line on a dance floor.
