I just popped in a new tube that Charteroak recommended I try in their lovely 538 microphone. It's a Sovtek 12ax7lps and is a little smoother on the high end and a little fuller compared to the last JJ tube I had in there. I'm going through the 3 basic polar patterns on the mic and singing the same line. You'll need good speakers to hear the differance. As always, these tests are difficult as I'm only human and am not singing "exactly" the same every sing time (but I tried!). I've had this mic for many years now and really appreciate it more as I've gotten to know it. Please visit my web site at dbwproductions.com or recordla.com for all your high quality music production needs. I offer full production services with or without a band.
