Clint Eastwood's film 'Bird' won an oscar for best sound. In this film Parker's solos were ripped from their time period and place in a modern enviroment. I decided to make a comparison from the recording of Cool Blues. In the film this is played at Birdland in late 1949 but in reality the recording is from a live gig at Rockland Palace in 1952. What do you think? Did the film music deserve an Oscar or is the original recording better?
