Since EIR showed how the origins of government shutdowns went back to the policies of banker Charles Dawes, I thought it prudent to find out what the guy said/wrote. The Banking System of the United States and its Relationship to the Money and Business of the Country was written by Dawes after the panic of 1893 in which he shows his loyalty to the increasing power of British financiers by slyly promoting their way of thinking. First by extensively quoting from John Stewart Mill who came out of the Hailybury School of the East India Company, and using the panic of 1873 to promote the British as paragons of stability without mentioning the role of the British in causing the panic by their efforts at bringing down the banking house if Jay Cooke and ending the Greenback in favor of the gold standard.
