French Stick fighting (La Canne) is not only a sport today but also a martial art of the past. People trained it to defend themself or did it as physsical education and preparing for sabre in the military. Joseph Charlemont left us the biggest book about his training method for the cane and there is also some old footage of his son Charles Charlemont with his students and some bouting on film. This video focus on the striking mechanics the Charlemont method is famous for and how they disappear in sparring.
