Charizard holds the distinction of being the fastest boss killer in Brawl, as Rock Smash is a move that deals massive damage to bosses (over 40%) while being usable in the ground and air (meaning you can use it effectively on aerial bosses and use it for counterattacks), and while it doesn't take an exceedingly long time to use. Charizard doesn't really need any other moves, though his down and up tilts can provide quick decent pokes when he can't get another Rock Smash in without getting hit, and u-smash can be used to get a good hit in when Rock Smash won't come out in time. When it comes to dodging, Charizard fares poorly with his very slow mobility and very large frame, but since he kills bosses so fast, you won't have to dodge that many attacks, and thus Zard is still one of the easier characters to do a no damage run with. With two midair jumps and Fly, Zard can also get high to dodge attacks and go offstage safely, which helps with dodging some attacks.

The biggest threat to the run was the Duon, as unless Zard can use both his midair jumps, he'll get get caught in the wheel on Duon's charging attack, which ended multiple no damage runs. So to deal with it, in the beginning I preemptively jump up quickly to bait it or the Triple Slash out, pushing them back later in his attack pattern and making it more likely that I can kill him before he uses them while I'm in a position where I won't be able to effectively dodge. Porky's Homing Laser was also a problem because of Zard's frame, though Porky can be killed ridiculously quickly by Zard and you can prevent him from using it much of the time (though in this run I wasn't able to).

Truth is I had more difficulty selecting the music than I did actually doing the run. Since so many of the playable pokemon are Gen 1 and while I want to do music from several different Pokemon games, I had to preemptively figure which music I want to use for each Pokemon. Then with Zard's music chosen, I ended up listening to a ton of different remixes of the chosen songs before deciding on what to use.
