![Thats My Desire, by Robert Mandell & the Mike Sammes Singers.
A track from the Readers Digest 10-LP album, Magical Melodies for Listening, Dancing, Relaxing, Dining issued in 1969.
The popular standard Thats My Desire was originally composed in 1931 by Helmy Kresa with lyrics by Carroll Loveday.
However, it gained its greatest fame in 1946 through Frankie Laine’s legendary hit recording.
Robert Mandell (22 August 1929 – 25 April 2020) was an American-born British-based conductor. He conducted family and childrens concerts, and stage musicals.
Michael William Sammes[1] (19 February 1928 – 19 May 2001)[2] was an English musician and vocal session arranger, performing backing vocals (mostly with his mixed voice choir The Mike Sammes Singers) on many pop music tracks recorded in the UK from 1955 into the 1970s.
According to Spencer Leigh, he sang on more chart successes than any other performer.
The vinyl LP was played on a Pro-Ject turntable, recorded directly to computer using a NAD digital pre-amp and VinylStudio software then processed to CD-quality using Audacity software.
The video was created in Movie Maker, where the images and the music track were assembled into the final product.
Creating just one video such as this from a single track on a vinyl LP takes around fifteen minutes from start to finish.
One side of a six-track-per-side LP therefore takes around ninety minutes to create. Thats My Desire, by Robert Mandell & the Mike Sammes Singers.](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/eIrWn5o48kE/mqdefault.jpg)
