Channel intro, video notes
Alright, welcome to my channel. I do book review. I mostly read fantasy and political books (weird combination, I know).
I know some people don't like to talk about or read about politics, so my fantasy reviews won't go into anything about real world politics, though I will of course talk about the fantasy books political systems.
The types of fantasy I usually like are high fantasy, low fantasy, sometimes dystopian stuff, not too much sy-fy stuff. No horror stuff, although I haven't given horror a real chance.
As far as my political views, I don't really see any value of pretending I don't have political views or doing some fake neutrality thing like you would see from someone on CNN or the nightly news, so I'm going to briefly overview my politics for the sake of transparency and intellectual honesty.
I'm on the left.
My views align most with Senator Bernie Sanders, though I am not above criticizing anyone.
When I vote, the issues I generally care most about are:
Universal, single payer healthcare
Net neutrality
Universal 4 year college
Universal pre-K
Getting out of these stupid wars and military interventions.
Labor rights and being treated fairly in the workplace.
Environmental protection and slowing the radical effects of climate change
I'll go into more detail on all these things later on I'm sure, but this should give you enough of a sense of where I'm coming from and what I care about.
