In this video I'm going to go through the steps to change any button - such as a big focal handmade button, or one with an unusual shape - into a button that can be used on a garment that already has buttons and machined buttonholes.
You will need to do a little bit of "work" on the garment, but not much!
This technique is also great to use on bags or cushions and the like, anyplace where you want to be able to easily remove a button - either for a change - or to clean the item.
You will need -
A button / a garment (I'm using a winter coat) / a smaller, every day button / sewing thread, needle, scissors / something to mark with / something to act as a gauge
