From June 19, 2016 - Joust Champion Lonnie McDonald won a tournament on arcade classic Joust earlier in the day to win a chance to play against John Newcomer, the creator of the game.

This match was best two out of three, five lives only on maximum difficulty. Points did not matter, it was who could survive the longest. Contest was sanctioned by the U.S. National Video Game Team®.
