This stunning Chainmaille necklace uses the Helm's chain pattern. It measures 18 inches long. Is 1 1/8 inch wide at the center and taper to about 1/4 inch wide at the back.
Using 33 feet of 20 gauge Sterling Silver wire. Over 450 jump rings were hand rolled and precision cut and combined with 49 dazzling Alexandrite Color Changing crystals. These were mounted using Fine Silver custom created headpins. To complete it I created an 18 gauge Hook and Eye clasp with soldered ring. I also soldered the final rings of the pattern for a more solid and secure finish.
Alexandrite Color Changing crystals are made of a special polarized crystal glass which reflects a different color, depending on the light source. In cold or Fluorescent light, it appears a light Blue. In warm light, incandescent light or sunlight it appears a rich violet color.
