Felix Mendelssohn
Chamber Fridays2 #5 – 2 April, 2021
Mendelssohn’s 7th String Symphony, in classical form, is characterized by a strong contrast between the dramatic, almost "severo", first movement and the “andante amorevole” in the second. The final Allegro foreruns the “Saltarello” which the composer wrote in the Italian Symphony.
The project is part of the MPO Online Programme as the orchestra seeks to diversify its music-making.
