Thanks to PCBWay for sponsoring a portion of this stream! pcbway.com
PCBWay offers plenty of services for retro enthusiasts, including custom PCB manufacturing and assembly, 3D printing, injection molding, and CNC machining!
On this stream, let's do some challenging surface-mount soldering!
PicoGUS is a new ISA sound card for DOS computers. We've already assembled the DIY-friendly 1.1 version of the PicoGUS on-stream, But the 2.0 version has some additional features that I would love to try out!
The only problem is the 2.0 PicoGUS was never really meant for DIYers. It involves soldering the RP2040 processor directly to the PCB, as well as soldering a boat-load of 0204-sized components.
With the help of my new microscope, can I successfully solder these small surface mount parts? Let's find out!
