Dance artists from Ghana, Grenada and the West Midlands in the UK, came together to tell the story of the Black Country’s chain making industry, its links to slavery, and how its workers were at the forefront of workers’ rights.

'Chain Stories' was performed as part of the Birmingham 2022 Festival, the cultural programme marking the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The production was supported by the British Council, Arts Council England, Canal and River Trust and Black Country Touring.
