Plant management contacted Industrial Kinetics to help them reduce the time it took to move a 3,000lb engine into and out of a testing fixture.
The Solution:
Industrial Kinetics extended the existing conveyor by adding pop-up chain transfers, sensors, and controls.
This created an accumulation zone where loads could be staged before moving into the testing area.
The Result:
The cycle from the end of a test and the beginning of the next test was reduced by 60%.
The customer achieved gains in efficiency and productivity by improving throughput for extra demand without having to add more test stations.
