On August 19, 2026, a Cessna 150 was attempting to land at Carlisle Airport in Pennsylvania when something went terribly wrong. A Pennsylvania State Police Bell 407 helicopter was conducting a training exercise near the runway and hovering just above the ground.

As the Cessna approached to land, it suddenly deviated from what appeared to be a normal flight path, turned toward the helicopter, and collided with it. The impact sent both aircraft crashing to the ground. The two Pennsylvania State Police troopers aboard the helicopter survived, but the pilot of the Cessna was killed.
In this episode, retired airline captain and naval aviator Captain Steeeve reacts to the available audio and footage and breaks down what pilots are looking for when operating at a non-towered airport, how airplanes and helicopters coordinate around each other, and what could cause an aircraft to suddenly depart from an otherwise normal approach.
