A quick setup with room-temperature detectors allows users to begin nuclear spectroscopy right away. The CeBr3 detector shown in this video represents the latest room-temperature (does not require cooling) detector to offer excellent peak resolution, large volume crystals and linear response through a wide energy range. Also, there is no contamination peak to be compensated for (contamination peaks such as Lanthanum create some post processing requirements).
