Join us for a detailed overview of the Ceph Object Storage roadmap, directly from the Ceph community! In this session, we’ll discuss recent developments, current initiatives, and exciting new directions shaping the future of Ceph RGW (RADOS Gateway).
Ceph Object Storage continues to evolve rapidly, driven by community collaboration and real-world use cases, including hybrid cloud deployments with multi-cloud integration, data-intensive AI/ML workloads leveraging analytics capabilities (such as Apache Arrow integration in RGW), robust multisite replication with enhancements like cross-zone zonegroup replication (CRR), tiering, and comprehensive enterprise storage needs. We'll highlight key themes from ongoing upstream efforts, such as scalability and performance optimizations through Bucket Index and sharding improvements, security enhancements featuring IAM Organizational Unit (OU) with Service Control Policies (SCPs), new deployment form factors (e.g., standalone and with converged write-back cache [D4N[), and usability enhancements through cephadm orchestration.
