Final set of the evening, playing out with 2 reels. The 9-part version of the "Pinch Of Snuff" was popular at that time but it's a long time since I've heard anything other than what I believe was the original Donegal version played anywhere.

I was always a big fan of Vin Garbutt, one of the hardest-working musicians ever on the UK folk scene, and someone who would always deliver a great night of songs, music and Goons-influenced humour.
We booked him for Aberdeen University Folk Club in 1975 - see photo. He had a very individual style of whistle-playing, two tunes here are traditional Irish, a reel followed by a jig.
