Central Park is an original composition by James Newton Howard from the 2005 feature length film King Kong, directed by the one and only Peter Jackson. This piece for me has always been very special for a couple of reasons. One being that I really like the movie and like James Newton Howard as a composer. The second reason why is because my high school marching band played the music from King Kong 2005 my sophomore year where I marched Bass 3, Central Park (or titled Beautiful in the Show) was our ballad. After I discovered this piece I fell in love with it. It is so simple yet it leaves a warm feeling in your heart.
Right now I am a sophomore in college. One day, I was talking to my instructor about possible pieces for our percussion show I told about my sophomore year of high school and showed him this piece. He said if I arrange it, he would be very glad to allow the group to play this. And present day, that is going to happen very soon and I am very excited. So this being the audio file, certain sounds like the Djembe and the Synth Strings sound really bizarre. I had to mess around with sounds to make it so no ones ear drums would be blown off lol. Otherwise, I like the way this turned out.
