Contributing to the advancement of real world technologies like robotics, vehicles and augmented people-worn systems. We use cutting edge techniques based on machine learning, computer vision and AI to develop end-to-end solutions from sensing to high level understanding.
SRI is working on innovative driver safety technologies that monitor and analyze facial expressions, eye movements, poses and gestures to identify the driver’s emotional state and drowsiness in real-time. The center continues to develop solutions that enable very precise, real-time 3D mapping, scene labeling and localization with smaller, more adaptable sensors and low power processors. Opening up new innovative possibilities from worker aids to personal electronic devices which can operate with very low power.
The Center for Vision Technologies is advancing state-of-the-art in machine learning and is developing algorithms and modules to power smarter and more reliable AI-driven content recommendation engines that match social media users to helpful and valuable content.
By collaborating with divisions and labs across the institute, the center has spun off several startups, and applied computer vision concepts to robotics, health, education, consumer, commercial and government devices and applications.
SRI is leading the way in the development of computer vision, and will continue to pioneer the technologies that change lives for the better.
