100 years has passed since Flying Scotsman rolled out of Doncaster Works a brand new engine on February 24, 1923. As the beloved engine celebrates its birthday in Scotland, I’m releasing a two part mini-documentary that goes into the life of Flying Scotsman in hopefully under a total of 15 minutes. Although it may seem as if I’m very partial to American steam engines, Flying Scotsman (and the whole of the Gresley A1/3 Class) is without a doubt my favorite British steam engine over the course of a few months. This day is a sacred one for all steam fans, and I think I’ll say my piece here.
