The Brythonic Pantheon | Celtic Religion and the Purpose of Sacrifice - The Druids - Bog Bodies - Beltane - Votive Offerings @TheBrythonicPantheon | Uploaded January 2022 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
The Sun God has once again awoken and risen in the the North. Table service will resume as normal. This weeks topic is Celtic Religion and The Nature of Sacrifice. On the menu are Votive Offerings cast into the Lakes and Rivers, The Bog Bodies, The Ancient Fire festival of Beltane, The Sun God Belinus and Last but not least, those old favourites The Druids.

The Celts saw the cosmos as consisting of Earth, Sky and Sea with the earth, sea and the waters resting over the underworld.

They chose sacred sites to venerate their Gods and those sites they believed to be portals between the 3 worlds, the Earth, the heavens and the underworld. Those sites were typically, forest groves, caves, rivers, and lakes that lay on the Earth, were open to the heavens and rested upon the underworld.

Hope everyone had a good holiday and praise be to the Sun God for he has again returned to bless us with his warmth and comfort in this new year 2022.

The short days are behind us and we look forward with optimism and enthusiasm to the longer days, the brightness and excitement that comes to us, courtesy of Bel, who manifests himself in the joyous glory of our wonderful and enchanted Spring and Summer months.

Stay ENCHANTED
