The Harvestman’s (now ‘Industrial Music Electronics’) Hertz Donut mkI was the very FIRST eurorack module I ever had in my studio, sometime circa 2012. Fast forward to 2025 and I have quite a few more Harvestman / IME modules in my racks BUT I’ve been wanting a Hertz Donut mkIII for a long time (I still have my mkI and 2 mkII’s.) Recently I foolishly started looking through sites and forums to find one and consequently ended up coming across this entire IME system for sale. After doing some calculations and negotiations, I concocted a way to justify buying it so that I didn’t end up lying awake at night due to the guilt of buying something I didn’t “need.” 😂

This video was edited down from almost 2 hours of knob-twiddling and experimentation (or in modular-speak “noodling”) and was never meant to be my magnum opus. These are just selections of some parts I thought were cool based on what I was doing with the modules themselves (which I note on the bottom right.) I’ll cut up some chunks of audio from the hours of noodles to upload for my amazing Patreon peeps, to do with as they wish sometime in the near future. I do have several video game scores on the horizon I will most definitely be using this system for (ah, THERE’S the justification!) and I look forward to sharing more music, tutorials and noodles in the future.
