I was talking to a friend from work and I happened to place my cell phone on top of a stainless steel commercial coffeemaker that I had in my garage. To my surprise (and horror), the metal on the coffeemaker began to buzz with the GSM cell phone signal.
The unit was unplugged and coffeemakers usually don't have any circuitry in them that would act as a receiver as in a set of amplified speakers but it was still interesting to me anyway.
