It looks like Adobe has no intention to officially update their Mixamo addon for Blender. Fortunately, Blender addons are open source so creating community patches is not an issue. Xin / Spirited Harvest is the creator of the fix provided above. There are other community fixes on the web but this is the only one I trust to be done well. Enjoy!
