One of the most magical and surreal experience was working with the great and magnificent Celine Dion a few years ago. She was the epitome of elegance and grace. A supportive fellow musician and of course an incredible singer.
Being on tour with her and her band (who was my studio band for “My favorite Things” CD I released) was a big highlight of my career. I remember getting a call from the famous producer Rick Wake at Cove Studios on Long Island, right around the corner from my house, saying they are producing a “Celine somebody”new record. She was an unknown at that time, and Rick asked me to do her string arrangements and perform them on my 7 string viper, since there was no budget for a live string section. Then, her career exploded, and she reached out to me to join her on tour…Wow! What an incredible experience!
She also is a supreme supporter of our music education program “Electrify Your Symphony” and our music camp and festival: “The Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Camp”, in the last 27 years have supported and given away scholarships to school music programs, students and adult musicians an opportunity to attend our special summer camp.
