Category rules: Beat the game without interacting with a snowball. This includes having the grapple touch a snowball, bouncing on a snowball, or dying to a snowball.

This is the first ever completion of Celeste Classic 2 without interacting with a snowball! I'm torn about completing this run on version 1.0; I think this is a really neat challenge, and I hope it sees more runners rta, but part of what makes it unique is the extreme item juggling required on version 1.1 of the game (the most played/ran version). The biggest difference between v1.0 and v1.1 is that on v1.0 grappling an item for 1 frame causes it to freeze in place in midair.

I used this trick often throughout the run. In Glacial Caves this makes the ice fall room much easier, and it allows me to bring extra springs (I dropped 2 springs in the void on the ice fall room this run; on v1.1, all springs are needed). Golden Valley requires items to freeze in midair, so v1.1 runs have to do a harder trick involving both springs.

Completing this run on v1.1 seems much, much harder. I still hope to see it done some day, and I might keep strat searching, but I'm not certain I'll ever be able to do it. The ice fall room in Glacial Caves is particularly awful, and with a lot of practice I've only been able to get one spring across rta; a full run would require doing this twice as well as doing the continuous spring navigation I had to do in this run. I have no idea how hard the v1.1 strat is for Golden Valley, and this depends a lot on my choice of setup, but I imagine it will be very hard.

You could in theory do a "soft" version of snowballless where you can touch a snowball as long as you die immediately afterward. This prevents a lot of resets in Golden Valley (I had two runs die due to hitting a snowball, the second one of which was particularly infuriating as it came after all the hard segments), and is consistent with categories like Celeste Classic minimum dashes. On the other hand, that's not snowballless because you touch a snowball. This run is definitely snowballless because I never interact with a snowball.

Sorry for bad speedstrats I didn't really try to optimize the non-challenging parts of the run, so whatever I did is just a route that felt fun and simple
