Abby Cabrera, MPH, associate director, UCSF Research and Community Engagement, is hailed for her steadfast commitment in promoting health equity, public health and racial solidarity. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she played a leading role in sharing UCSF's findings that barriers to accessing vaccinations failed to account for language, literacy, transportation and digital barriers.
She is the winner of the 2024 Chancellor Award for Public Service.
“I wanted to make sure that I could give back to the communities that helped raise me,” she said.
The UCSF Founder’s Day Awards celebrate the outstanding service of faculty, staff and learners to the University and to our community in fulfillment of our mission of advancing health worldwide.
