Trustin Timber | Cedar WoodCraft Paddle @TrustinTimber | Uploaded September 2017 | Updated October 2024, 18 minutes ago.
This wooden paddle was made from a branch that fell from a large Cedar tree. This is not an example of easy or strong wood to work with. However, it is an example of making something useful out of what would otherwise only rot away.

At Trustin Timber Productions we believe in working with naturally fallen or dead tress and up cycling materials. This is our small commitment to being kind to our earth.

Making a paddle for the sake of having a paddle with basic hand tools might be hard to justify compared to the price of buying one, however, as a gift with a story it’s priceless and I highly encourage anyone interested in woodcraft to give it a try.

I hadn’t really done any research or taken any classes on paddle making, so my process is far from refined. I just wanted to start making, and I let the results of my efforts lead me to the next step. This seemed to work for me so don’t let anything stop you. If you want to make a paddle go make one.

This paddle handled it's first 3-day canoe trip and paddled 20km with success. Twig is very excited for the next trip.
