This video shows: indirect sunlight, direct sunlight, shade, ultraviolet, and indoor warm LEDs.
Alexandrite is a color change gemstone that appears blue, pink/purple, blue/green, and vibrant red depending on the ambient lighting. Lab created alexandrites lean blue/purple, whereas naturally occurring gems appear green/red.
Before receiving this ring, I couldn't find a video like this one. I hope this video is helpful to anyone considering a lab-grown alexandrite for their forever ring. For reference, this is set in a decorative platinum band with accent diamonds.

This pattern was originally published in 1917. I’m calling this Late Edwardian because WW1 era does not have the same ring (or romance) to it. Plus, this period of time is multimodal. People in 1917 were still wearing Edwardian fashions, but we were also beginning to see a marked movement towards modernity.
What I've done with this pattern is modernized the old terminology. I've also used a yarn that is easy to get online.
Additional Supplies: Yarn needle, scissors, aforementioned yarn, E-4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook, ~8" book for making fringe
Please note! If you're planning on using a different yarn, please use: https://yarnsub.com. I'm not affiliated with this site in any way. But it's a godsend for people who like to sub out different yarns. The quality of your final project is dependent on the quality of your yarn!

Skills required: Chain, single crochet, weave in ends, confident in tension of yarn
I suggest using a "bulky" (5) or "super bulky" (6) weight yarn to practice. Start by using the hook size that your skein of yarn recommends. If you're having trouble with your tension, try a different hook that allows you to achieve gauge, as described by the yarn label.
