And there's a reason.Many of you probably saw me still being active on social media and posting on my community tab here on YouTube, but not any videos. I'll be honest, I was kind of nervous to post this animation exactly because of that lack of content and inactivity, for which I want to apologise to all of you. It's especially a big bummer for me, because I consider 2023 the year my skills as an artist and animator really began to improve (at least, I hope so). I also realised what I wanted to primarily do on my channel, as I hadn't been sure for quite some time: tell stories through my art, whether it's still artwork or animation. It'd been in front of me the whole time, but it took me a while to realise.So, to break the ice a bit about what's going on, I have massive exams at the end of the year that'll influence what I do in college and where I end up going. So, obviously, school is gonna have to be my main priority.Also, you've seen the process of how I draw. As of now, I animated the "traditional/old fashioned way," meaning each of the drawings you see here are all very few pictures changed slightly to give the characters some kind of motion. No models, no puppets, just a bunch of hand-drawn sketches on paper I digitalised on my tablet using nothing but my fingers (that's right, MY FINGERS) and animated by relying solely on how I changed the pieces, combined with whatever special features the video editing softwares I use can offer me. I also used and "recycled" a couple of old drawings.Animation takes time. I can easily find time to draw an art piece, but animating a whole video is a very lengthy process. It may be about two minutes, but that doesn't mean it actually took me two minutes IN REAL TIME to complete it. Every frame here took me up to 3-5 hours to complete, including all the small details (just the cocoa cups took me nearly an hour and a half). I was originally planning to release it on Christmas but I postponed it to now because, no matter how small a video may be, you guys deserve the most exceptional quality possible.I really wish I could have given you something much longer, but I hope you will still find this enjoyable for what it is. Animation takes time. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post for a while, but it'll probably be, amongst other things, smaller animations of my characters and their stories, but it depends.If you read this far, thank you so, so much, it really means a lot to me. But, even antagonists have a sift spot for their families. In this drawing, the cubs are trying to convince Grady so that they all play together, instead of playing by themselves or the flying-only games they usually have. This would annoy Ripe, who's determined to practice his flying constantly so he can be as good of a flier as his grandfather, Grandpa Garvey. Surprise Smooch | Speedpaint Bees Meliss 2021-05-29 | Surprise Smooch | SpeedpaintI've been developing my OCs' background a little bit, even the antagonists'. In this little drawing, we see what Grandma Gianna and Grandpa Garvey looked like as cubs. Garvey knows that Gianna's favourite flowers are lavenders and decides to give her one as a gift. Gianna is very happy that Garvey remembered that about her and believes that her friend (now husband) deserves a big peck on the cheek. It may seem like he's freaking out on the inside but this is still the best day of his life — his tail agrees! XD Gianna fell badly in love with Garvey before he would admit to himself he was falling head over heels for her. Another thing he hates to admit is that his two best friends, Gillan and Gino, weren't the only ones who had been most instrumental to their love story. The Senior Group (then called "Snack Pack") had played a fairly big part too, specifically, when Garvey wanted to confess his feelings to Gianna, and when he wanted to pop the question. Grandpa Garvey's Gang is a small group of three old Griffons, Grandpa Garvey, Grandpa Gillan, and Grandpa Gino. They are the frenemies of the Senior Group. He must've been taking lessons from Silverstream. XD Hope you like it! ^^For the second edition of this piece, I gave Grandpa Gruff some additions to show a progression of age, like a more skinny torso, a bit of grey at the edges of his wings, tail, ears and fur, and bags under his eyes. Also, Gallus doesn't have his helmet because he dropped it while running to hug his grandpa.Also, yes, I'm planning on drawing Generation 5's designs. This is actually an edit of my previous art piece that shows my OC hugging these two. Now, for this piece, we see Gallus and Grandpa Gruff sitting together on a hill and resting their backs on each other. Normally Grandpa Gruff doesn't mind when his grandson lies on him but since Gallus has grown bigger (and heavier) it's kinda hurting his back.
