Hello and welcome.
On this trip, I meet up with my friend Isabel and we visit a place called Coves Bruguer and take some drone footage of castell d'eranprunya. A place steeped in fascinating history, it sits above the towns of Gava and Castelldefels, approx 30 km south of Barcelona.
Although recent archaeological studies testify to the occupation of the cliff of Eramprunyà since prehistoric and Iberian times, the history of the castle begins in the ninth century, well over 1000 years!
In 801 the Franks took the city of Barcelona from the Saracens, who had to retreat to the right bank of the Llobregat river. The defence of Barcelona required the protection of the plain area, but also the entire lower part of the Llobregat valley, from Martorell to the sea, as it is a natural area of access to Barcelona. It was also necessary to control the entire coastline and the roads of the Garraf. Some of the castles that were built at that time were those of Cervelló, Castellví de Rosanes, Sant Boi, Corbera, Castelldefels and Eramprunyà.

We started the hike approx 9am as it was forecast to reach 25c and by the time we had finished the hike at 13.30, it was reaching those temperatures.
It was abundantly clear that I am way out of shape and in much need of some practice. I was absolutely worn out at the end.
